The idea for this project was to build a house in a land covered by a dense cork trees’ forest. The building is composed by two uniform volumes united by a shorter third, resulting in a composition similar to an H. Organized so as to not interfere with the existing cork trees, the house embraces one of them, marking it as one of the project's references.
The social areas of the house were placed in the first volume. The living room, with a suspended fireplace that divides and organizes the office’s adjacent space, has a privileged relationship with the exterior, enhanced by the big window to the west, the spots where the patio with the cork tree is visible, and the areas where indirect light pours through. The second volume was destined for the private areas: bedrooms, toilets, and children’s playrooms.
